Gladys R. Palm, 89, of Willmar, formerly of Mt. Lake, died April 7, 2018, at Bethesda Grand in Willmar.
A memorial service was Friday at Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar.
Burial will be at a later date at Lake-view Cemetery in Windom.
Harvey Anderson Funeral Home of Willmar handled the funeral arrangements.
Gladys Ruth Buhr was born May 6, 1928, to David and Anna (Fast) Buhr in Mt. Lake. She grew up in Mt. Lake and graduated from Mt. Lake High School in 1946.
Gladys married Donald Palm in 1946 at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Windom. They moved to Willmar, where Gladys worked for 43 years as a human service technician at Willmar State Hospital. She retired in 2000.
Following Donald's death in 2003, Gladys continued to live in Willmar.
She was a member of First Covenant Church in Willmar, as well as the VFW Auxiliary, AARP and the Humane Society. Her love for animals was displayed by helping many stray animals in Kandiyohi and Meeker counties.
Gladys enjoyed embroidery, crossword puzzles, traveling with Don and, after his death, with friends and family. She also enjoyed keeping in touch with all of her family, visiting them on holidays or for special occasions.
Survivors include her brother, David Buhr Jr. of Blaine.
