Remember to back up
Recently, here at
iCitizen, we have had a number of computers brought to us with either bad hard drives or hard drives that are completely dead. If your hard drive is bad, but still functioning, consider yourself lucky because at any moment you could end up with a dead hard drive and lose all of your documents, pictures, business files, etc. Unless, of course, you back up your computer.
I know we have written about this in the past, but I can't stress enough how important it is to backup your computer. There are two kinds of backups:
The main method is to backup your files and pictures, and put them on either an external hard drive or a flash drive.
The other method is to do a system image of your computer. This will actually back up your entire computer, including programs, and allow you to restore it to another hard drive if your's dies. This method does take up quite a bit of space and will most likely require an external hard drive.
How to backup
Plug into your computer, the device you are going to back up to. Next, go to Start > Settings > Update and Security >Backup (located on the left side of the Update and Security page). Select the device you wish to use to backup and click on Back Up Now.
If you have any questions about backing up give us a call and we can walk you through it, or we also have a backup service where we can back up your computer for you. You tell us what you want backed up and we will take care of the whole process for you.
