Short time for Dayton to read a gigantic bill

I totally disagree with Rep. Rod Hamilton's guest column taking Gov. Mark Dayton to task for vetoing the Republican legislature's monster (4½-inch-thick) Tax Bill - which was presented to him on the last day of the entire legislative session of 2018.
Who do you know, that would have been able to read a 4½-inch-thick bill in one working day? No one could.
Remember folks, the Republicans control both the House of Representatives and the Senate this session. And they could not get a Tax Bill to the Governor's desk until the very last day? So Rep. Hamilton blames Gov. Dayton for this?
If Rep. Hamilton was so concerned about the disabled community, why did he not present and get passed, a stand-alone bill addressing those concerns? Gov. Dayton would have signed it in a heartbeat.
The Governor has real concerns about the long-term impacts of corporate tax breaks in that vetoed bill, which would quadruple in 2020. Large tax breaks  - which become larger and larger in the coming years  -  would impact the state's long-term finances in ways that cannot be known at this time.
The tax cuts for the large corporations already given at the federal level, in the Governor's opinion, were enough. Also, it isn't necessary to give them even more. Rather, they need to create and implement policies that promote prosperity for our state's people and businesses.
