Windom 27-54 = 81 St. James 36-44 = 80 The Windom Eagle boys basketball team fought off a 15-point deficit in the second half to take a late lead, then hung on late to defeat St. James 81-80 Tuesday in St. James.
The Eagles trailed by nine at halftime and the Saints quickly stretched the lead to 15 to start the second half. But Windom's backcourt took over the game in the second half.
Junior Kobe Lovell scored all of his team-high 23 points in the second half. Senior Luke Gilbertson added 12 second half points and senior Wyatt Minion scored 11 as the Eagles stormed back, taking a four-point lead late.
St. James cut the lead to two at 81-79, then had a chance to tie the game late from the free throw line. But the Saints missed the second free throw and Windom collected the rebound, preserving the win.
Lovell led the Eagles with 23 points. Minion added 19, Gilbertson 16 and Kaden Elder 12 in the win.
Madelia 20-24 = 44 RRC 35-29 = 64 Red Rock Central controlled the glass Tuesday night and had good offensive balance, leading to a 64-44 win over Madelia at Lamberton.
The Falcons held a 16-3 edge on the offensive glass over the Blackhawks and had a significant edge on the glass in the game.
Senior Spencer Halland led RRC with 18 points, 13 rebounds and eight assists. Sam Hansen had a season-best 17 points and Brady Rasmussen added 14 points in the win.
