The Windom Legion Post 206 baseball team advanced to the semifinals of the Sub-District 2B Tournament with a 10-0 shutout win over Lake Crystal Thursday at Island Park.
Post 206 broke open a scoreless game with a six-run fourth inning. Two runs scored when Hunter Voxland reached on an error. Andrew Quiring added a two-run single, Luke Gilbertson hit an RBI single and the final run of the inning scored on an error.
Windom added a run in the fifth on a wild pitch.
Then, in the sixth, Windom ended the game via the 10-run rule. Gilbertson hit an RBI single, Alex Borsgard drove in a run with a groundout and Kade Sammons hit an RBI single.
Quiring led Post 206 with three hits and two RBI in the win. Gilbertson and Borsgard each had a pair of hits.
Kobe Lovell worked the first four innings to earn the pitching win. He allowed three hits, walked one and struck out six.
Post 206 will now face Wabasso Saturday at 12:30 p.m. at Riverside Park in Springfield in the semifinals. The winner will face either Springfield or Redwood Falls Sunday at 11 a.m. in the championship game, while the loser will play again at 3 p.m. Saturday against Welcome-Sherburn in an elimination game. That winner advances to play Sunday at 1:30 p.m. in the third-place game.
The top three teams in the sub-district advance to the District 2 Tournament, which begins July 14 in Blue Earth.
