Windom to seek $150,000 in DNR funds for park project
(Today's updates: 9 a.m., noon, 3 p.m.)
New tennis courts and restroom facilities at Island Park could be right around the corner--if Windom receives a grant from the Department of Natural Resources.
The city of Windom has applied for a $150,000 matching grant that would allow the project to move forward. The city had already budgeted $200,000 to replace the tennis courts (which were moved from Witt Park to make room for a new Emergency Services Facility). Now those funds will be used as matching funds to leverage $150,000 in state DNR grant funds.
