Driver sentenced in I-90 crash that claimed Mt. Lake woman
A South Dakota man will serve 27 months in prison for an accident that claimed the life of Hannah Stoesz, 21, of Mt. Lake.
Mark Wendland, 48, of Baltic, S.D., was convicted of criminal vehicular homicide and sentenced Monday in district court in Martin County.
Wendland was driving west in the eastbound lanes of I-90 near Fairmont, March 7, when he struck a Ford Escape driven by Tyler J. Schoborg, 19, of Westbrook. Stoesz was a passenger in the Ford.
Schoborg received injuries. Stoesz died at the scene.
Wendland, who received non-life threatening injuries was found to have a blood alcohol concentration of .188 - more than twice the legal limit in Minnesota.
