County recorder gets set for key changes in Real ID

Drivers licenses in Minnesota will see major changes in 2018, as will the offices that provide them.

Last week, County Recorder Kathy Kretsch shared a few of those changes with county commissioners. For one thing, Kretsch expects a flood of customers when the law takes effect in October of 2018.

Consequently, she alerted commissioners that the office will likely require a little more staffing - at least at first - to handle customer flow.

For more details on how the Minnesota Real ID system is expected to work, see the July 12 Cottonwood County Citizen and Citizen eEdition.
